Yellow swarming fly (Thaumatomyia notata)

Biology:

Yellow swarming flies yellow flies about 2 mm long with 3 shiny black lengthwise stripes down their backs. The larvae develop in summer on meadows, fields and pastures. The adult flies often enter buildings in autumn and spend the winter in houses.

Damage:

The only factor of interest here is the occurrence of bothersome swarms of adult flies in autumn that try to enter houses.
